Typically, an intranet might be used to publish everything from basic office information, such as phone/fax numbers and extensions, through to who to contact when the photocopier or coffee machine breaks down.
We also use intranet to make available any procedures and documentation to client personnel developed during a consultancy project. This serves to ensure that the procedures and documentation developed are easily available to management and staff and can be updated on an 'as needs' basis.
As with website building, we undertake to train a client employee to manage and update the company intranet once it has been published.
An extranet is a private network that uses Internet technology together with a broadband telecommunication system to share securely business information or operations with suppliers, vendors, partners, customers, prospects, or other businesses.
An extranet can be viewed as part of a company's intranet that is extended to users outside the company. Differing levels of access allow for the effective communication of non-public information to pre-defined user groups.
When combined with basic database technology, an extranet can provide users with the means to consult and update information. An extranet is ideal for sharing contact information, technical specifications and price catalogues that need updating on a regular basis.
AXIS has developed a series of extranet modules to help language training centres better manage their business and administration.
Our End Of Course Reporting module forms part of an expanding suite of administration software created for extranet platforms. These modules, which also include an hours entry and reporting module for administering training contracts, effectively bring together trainers, clients, students and administrators in real time. They are ideally suited to small- and medium-sized training centres as they can be hosted at low cost using widely-available and robust internet technology.
Proper use of an extranet platform also helps you sell work to new clients. Real-time administration of a contract, together with access to a comprehensive series of reports can only enhance your attractiveness to prospective customers.
